DESCRIPTION
Kanpur, a land of Nawabs and more
The city of Kanpur on the banks of the Ganges River, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, is one of the largest industrial cities in the country. Kanpur is situated on the south bank of the holy river. Because of the huge presence of industrial establishments, Kanpur is also called the industrial capital of the state.
The city is believed to have been founded by Raja Hindu Singh of the Sachendi state.
Kanpur is about 90 kilometers away from the state capital of Lucknow and we provide a Lucknow to Kanpur taxi service which you can hire. You can either book a one-way cab service or a return journey.
The town in its earlier days remained in the hands of the rulers of Kannauj and Kalpi and later it was ruled by Muslim rulers. Between 1773 and 1801, Nawab Alamas Ali of Awadh had a decent government in Kanpur. After the Treaty of 1773 between the Nawabs and the Britishers, the city came under the rule of the British, resulting in an English camp here in 1778.
